Today, the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) issued a Request for Information (RFI) in support of the Advanced Nuclear First Mover Initiative, which is led by state co-chairs New York, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Wyoming, and participating states Louisiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia. The governors of these states are committed to delivering advanced nuclear power rapidly, safely, and cost-effectively to ensure consumers and businesses have reliable and affordable electricity for years to come.

DOE Identifies 16 Federal Sites Across the Country for Data Center and AI Infrastructure Development

DOE released a Request for Information (RFI) to inform possible use of DOE land for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure development to support growing demand for data centers. DOE has identified 16 potential sites uniquely positioned for rapid data center construction, including in-place energy infrastructure with the ability to fast-track permitting for new energy generation such as nuclear.

DOE-NE RFI/NOI for Nuclear Training and Workforce Development Program

On July 26, 2024, the Office of Nuclear Energy released a Request for Information and Notice of Intent (RFI/NOI) to seek ideas, input, comments, feedback, and recommendations from interested parties for future competitive workforce development programs focused on nuclear safety training for the workforce that supports the continued safe operation of existing nuclear power plants.
