ABSTRACT:

Advanced Nuclear Advisors (ANA) LLC, located in Ooltewah, TN, is a consulting firm specializing in enabling new nuclear project development. ANA’s purpose is to facilitate the efficient adoption of advanced nuclear energy by focusing on the near-term work required, specifically, site selection, site characterization, and nuclear licensing. 

The timing of the need for power for data centers and current pace of site and technology development are not aligned. ANA’s Project SparkHub: Nuclear-Powered Data Center Development will identify, characterize and license a site that can host both a hyper-scale data center as well as sufficient advanced nuclear capacity to power the facility.

To help get ANA’s Project SparkHub off to a quick start, ANA will partner with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to use the OR-SAGE tool to perform site screening and down select a number of sites that could be amenable to siting nuclear facilities. The sites will also be located in regions where there is strong incentive to build data centers. After the project, ANA will continue work and begin licensing activities to obtain an Early Site Permit on a technology-neutral basis to support development of the site.
