Ultra has developed a prototype detector but to complete the anticipated testing program for the prototype detector and demonstrate suitable operation at reactor flux levels, the detector requires testing at fluxes equivalent to those typically seen in power reactor operation (1E10 – 1E11nv).
Under this voucher, AMS performed radiation aging of two temperature and two pressure sensors at the Gamma Irradiation Facility of the High Flux Isotope Reactor at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Kairos seeks to optimize electroanalytical sensors to enable stable measurements of industrial-scale FLIBE salt in the Kairos Power Engineering Test Unit (ETU). The work proposed would provide a direct benefit to the development of the HERMES reactor.
Neutroelectric and Oak Ridge National Laboratory will perform critical combined tests at the High Flux Isotope Reactor in support of qualification of this new material, NE-300, for use in commercial nuclear reactor applications.
The objective of this project was to use the thermal hydraulics laboratory and vacuum test chambers at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) for response characterization of resistance temperature detectors and thermal aging of instrumentation and control (I&C) cables in vacuum to generate more useful data for I&C cable derating purposes.
The objective of this project is to develop multi-function sensors for redox control and safeguards in fuel salt. The proposed sensors will support successful deployment of the ThorConIsle demonstration power plant.
