About the Facilitators: Generation Atomic is a nuclear advocacy nonprofit founded in 2017.  Their Atomic Week team is comprised of Eric Meyer, social change engineer and Gen A Executive Director, Alan Medsker, ret. engineer and Gen A Legislative Coordinator, Ben DeNardo, Student Organizer, Katie Mummah, nuclear engineering graduate student and social
media expert, and Austin Blanch, grassroots organizer and game designer.
They will be joined by Jesabel Rivera, Community and Public Health Strategist and founder of the Nuclear Alternative Project (NAP). The Nuclear Alternative Project brings firsthand experience engaging with communities in Puerto Rico around the prospect of building small modular reactors as low cost and reliable decarbonization option.

ATOMIC WEEK AT A GLANCE


August 6, 2019: AMBASSADOR TRAINING
Time: 9:30am – 12pm
Location: INL Meeting Center - Energy Innovation Laboratory, 775 MK Simpson Blvd., Idaho Falls, ID                             
Description: Learn how to be an exceptional nuclear advocate by honing your communication skills. This training session will teach the art of storytelling with real-life examples of when nuclear conversations get tricky, both on and offline.
Key Activities: Write a letter to your elected representative, respond to comments and critique others' responses, and participate in semiscripted scenarios with facilitators.

August 6, 2019: SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT WORKSHOP
Time: 1pm – 3:30pm
Location: INL Meeting Center - Energy Innovation Laboratory, 775 MK Simpson Blvd., Idaho Falls, ID 
Description: Learn about the psychology of stickiness— what makes something memorable? This training session will help you create social media content such as, memes, short videos, and more.
Key Activity: Making social media content. (Cell Phone Required)

August 7, 2019: CLIMATE CHAOS BOARD GAME NIGHT
Time: 5:30pm – 8:30pm
Location: Snow Eagle Brewing & Grill, 455 River Parkway, Idaho Falls, ID
Description: This will be a pre-release opportunity to play Climate Chaos, a prototype science-based board game where you and your teammates are tasked with saving the world using clean energy as efficiently as possible, while fending off storms, droughts, and other feedback effects of climate change.

August 8, 2019: SAVE THE ALES         
Time: 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Location: Idaho Brewing Company, 775 S. Capital Avenue, Idaho Falls, ID
Description: There is trouble brewing for beer—worsening climate change has put the three main ingredients of beer at risk: water, hops, and barley. This evening event will delve deeper into this topic with a moderated discussion on looming climate impacts and potential solutions.
Key Activity: Moderated discussion, climate change themed music, and advocacy opportunities to contact legislators about climate and energy concerns.

August 8-10, 2019: YOUTH JAM PARTICIPATION
Time: 11am – 4pm
Location: Idaho Falls Greenbelt
Description: The annual Artitorium Youth Jam brings 10,000+ youth to the Riverwalk over the course of three days. Generation Atomic and GAIN will be hosting a booth and providing fun educational activities about climate change and energy technologies.
Key Activities: Climate Chaos board game, Clean Energy Future game, and other nuclear themed educational activities.
